August 26, 2014 Bellarmine, Limestone, Lindenwood, and Newberry to Form ECAC Division II Field Hockey League DANBURY, Conn. – Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Commissioner Dr. Kevin T. McGinniss announced today the formation of a Division II ECAC Field Hockey League featuring Bellarmine University, Limestone College, Lindenwood University, and Newberry College. All four previously independent programs will play a traditional home-and-home conference schedule with each other this season.
August 26, 2014 ECAC Names 2014 Commissioner’s Award Recipients DANBURY, Conn. – Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Commissioner Dr. Kevin T. McGinniss announced today the four individuals who will receive 2014 ECAC Commissioner’s Awards. The list includes former Siena College Associate Athletics Director Joyce Eggleston, former University of Connecticut Women’s Cross Country/Track and Field Coach Bill Morgan, former Manhattan College Athletics Director Bob Byrnes, and former University of Hartford Athletics Director Pat Meiser. McGinniss will also present the ECAC Commissioner’s Outstanding Service Award to the 2014 ECAC NCAA Division I Men’s Frozen Four Organizing Staff. August 20, 2014 Mercyhurst’s Dan Altavilla Named Division II CCA Regional Scholar Athlete DANBURY, Conn. – ECAC Pitcher of the Year Dan Altavilla (Greenock, Pa.) of Mercyhurst University has been named a 2013-14 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) Regional Scholar-Athlete. Altavilla is one of eight men and eight women to be honored by the CCA, with a national winner to be announced in September.
